We only collect information that is necessary to provide our hire services.

• Process and manage bookings
• Verify the identity of the person hiring our equipment
• Arrange delivery and next-day collection of hire equipment

• Send booking confirmations and service updates
• Process payments and the refundable bond

We do not sell or share your personal information for marketing purposes.

Driver’s licence information

Your driver’s licence details are collected only to confirm your identity as the hirer and to protect against equipment loss or theft. This information is:

• Never sold, shared, or used for any purpose other than identity verification for your hire
• Stored securely and only accessed when necessary (for example, if equipment is not returned)
• Retained only for the duration of your hire period, plus a short buffer for any post-hire issues, after which it is deleted

Payments

All payments, including the hire fee, optional add-ons, and the refundable $100 bond, are processed securely via Stripe. The bond is placed as a hold on your card (not charged) and is released automatically once your equipment is returned in good condition, or captured if required under our Terms & Conditions. Scrub Ya Rug does not see or store your full card details — these are handled directly by Stripe in accordance with their own security standards.

Disclosure of personal information

We may disclose your information only when necessary:

• To our payment processor (Stripe), to process payments and the bond
• To comply with legal obligations
• If required to protect our rights or property, including in the case of equipment loss, theft, or damage

We do not disclose your personal information to third parties for advertising or unrelated purposes.
